In Person:  At the appointment the taxpayer(s) will be remain on-site and retain their tax documents during interview, tax preparation, quality review and taxpayer review.  At the end of the appointment the tax return will be ready for e-file and taxpayer will receive a copy of their return.  This is the traditional pre-pandemic Tax-Aide model.

Two Visit Scan Model:  Available at Library Partnership only.  At the initial appointment, a Tax-Aide counselor will conduct an in-person 15-20 minute interview with you, before scanning your tax documents. The volunteer will return your documents to you and set up another appointment time one week later. Your tax return will be prepared and you should expect at least one call from the counselor to review the results of the preparation.   If you are married and file your return jointly, both spouses must attend this second appointment to review and sign your return. After that we will e-file your return on your behalf.

No Contact (Virtual) Model:  There is no in-person contact between taxpayer and Tax-Aide volunteers.  All tax preparations are handled virtually using technology.  To utilize the service, you must:  have an email address;  be able to scan and upload all of your tax documents to a secured website;  have a computer or smart device capable of video conferencing with a remote Tax-Aide counselor; and have a printer.
